Am I dreaming or what.......

Saw a post about changing underslung exhaust to top.

When I first got my IH300U 15 years ago I changed it from underslung to top and I swear all I did was turn the manifold upside down and screwed a piece of blackpipe into it. Is that possible........

Or did I buy a manifold off an H and stick it on.

Heck, I can even remember what I had for breakfast today.....

On my 300u, the exhaust was up. With low branches to go around, I wanted it down. So, 2 bolts and turned it down and had the local muffler shop fabricate the balance for an underslung.

If it's like a 240U The exhaust comes out the top of the manifold and 180 degrees down. David......

If ex comes through the hood, you used a Super H or a 300 Farmall ex manifold. I have changed some that way, also turned the elbow up and welded a piece of 2" pipe to it, but you hit a tree branch or something and the elbow breaks. :(

According to the parts manual they are two completely different manifolds. The vertical exhaust points straight up from the center, opposite of the intake connection. On the underslung manifold the exhaust points straight out from where #1 cylinder connects. Then there is a 90 degree pipe to point it down. I can email you pictures of it if you want.
