66 series front end swap

I have just bought a 1066 and a 966. I would like to swap the front ends as one is wore out and the other is good. Are they the same? Will the bigger 1066 tires and wheels bolt up to the 966?

Yes they will swap out.

If both are 6 hole rims they will switch also.

What is worn out? IH still has bushings/ parts for these fronts. We put new bushings in our 1066 & it is the same as new.

Look 'em over very closely with your tape, as there were something like 4 different options on those front ends. One for standards/two or three for row-crop widths (center tube, steering arms and tie rods).

Will bolt right up. However, you'll have to swap out the hubs as the 1066 probably has the 8-bolt version and the 966 has the reversable 6.

Why not rebuild the one frontend? Then you will ahve two like new frontends? and you will only have to tear one apart. That is what i would do.
