Belt Pulley assy.

I have a very early 1939 H that the belt pulley assy. has a short hand lever on top of it to engage and disengage it. You have too be off the tractor to reach the lever. All the other H's I have seen have a rod that you can reach when you're setting on the seat of the tractor. My question is was the early pulley assy. differant from the rest or has this one been modified by someone?

you have the correct assembly for your '39 h. that is how they came when new.

Those early units had some internal differences also. Thinner, lighter gears etc.

That is the correct pulley drive, I can reach the lever down there fine on my H. The rod behind the seat is used for the PTO.
