Farmall H points gap

Done a tune up on the Farmall H as the boy mentioned that the points appeared to be set at .20 . This is a delco distributor. I still had a problem with the tractor on quick take off. Now I seen on this site that the super H was set at .20 and the next line shows that the H should be set at 13 thousand. Which one is the correct gap? 20 thousand or 13 thousand. This tractor does not have a magneto, just the basic distributor (Delco). 1941 Farmall H. thanks

Every distributor on the planet will run at .018-.020" gap. Specs usually call for .020" because the points tend to wear to a closer setting over time.

The .013" setting is for a magneto.

Thanks---I appreaciate the info. I guess I will have to look at some other things. I rebuilt the carb so it has to be something else. Thanks again.

If Your tractor is not running right it is not because point gap is not EXACTLY right have seen a lot of them set by experienced eye only and go on to make a big crop with no problem.
