Well this evening I was backing up in my 350 farmall and it just stopped moving like it went into neutral.. Pto still works and motor runs fine and I didn"t hear any grinding or any other type of noise. It just seemed as though it slipped into neutral. Now none of the gears work It just slip into the gear "slot" smooth like the clutch is depressed and when its let out there is no grinding as usual unless I"m being pulled down the road..Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks a million guys!

it is disengaged forward I believe, I don't think it has ever work, before when I would pull it back to engage it, it would put the tractor into neutral similar to how its actin now come to think about it...

The main clutch or the TA clutch are likely candidates for breakage. Either will cause the tractor to stop suddenly. The inner hubs/splines, or drive springs can shear, or the friction material can decompose in an instant and stop all operation.
If the TA (which is a great and useful thing (way beyond the Wizzard of OZ in utility value))has been W/O oil. or broke internally it also can cause this failure. Does the PTO work?
The drive for this comes through the clutch system with different connections.
I think it will require a split to fix it. Some indication might be had from looking in the inspection plate. but splitting is likely. JimN

Yeah the PTO works fine. So I'm guessin that would mean failure of the TA then? Is splitting the only way to diagnose if that is the culprit or not?

No but there is really no option.
Pulling the Clutch inspection cover (farthest forward 2 bolt plate under the tractor, rearward of the oilpan) this allows a view, But no action to be taken.
With the tractor on level firm ground, or pavement, jack up one rear axle till the tire is just off the ground.
and block it for safety .
Pull that cover plate.
Put the tractor in High gear W/TA forward.
Have someone turn the rear wheel while yoy watch.
With the clutch out, the wheel should not turn. (It will). If the systems rotate, The clutch is out. If the flywheel rotates, the crank is broken, ot bolts sheared.(but that is not the case because it starts, and the flywheel has the ring gear on it.
A manual is necessary, IT manual from this site, and a IH manual are different enough to be useful. The splitting stands are also very important for safety.
This is not a common problem, and does not indicate other problems.
Replace the broken components (Main clutch,T/O bearing, Pilot bearing in F/Wheel, TA clutch, TA sprague, and TA assembly if needed.
TAs and TA parts are available from Hy Capacity, A person on here called Meier (or similar spelling), and clutches are also available.
caseih.com, search for parts is also important.
The archives here are great (search for) Keep us informed as progress is made. Start a new thread to keep it fresh. JimN
