I need help before I cause another $1000 in damage!!

Earlier this spring I was plowing with my 460 U when I lifted the plow and part of the fast hitch busted off the shaft that turns on the PTO, flush with the housing!! How do I get this heavy SOB back into the opening? I have the top 2 bolts (circled) started in the threads. Note the gap to close (in the oval circle.) The bottom 2 bolts (arrows pointed to them) are not yet started! I don't want to turn the top ones in for fear of not getting the PTO unit in squarely Any one have any Ideas? When I removed it I pulled on the shaft and wiggled all directions ALOT! until it came out. What are the chances that the splined coupler inside is not lined up? Here is a photo I hope...

Butch,I rebulit a PTO on my 340,when I went to put it back in the spline would not line up,so I put a 2ft peice of pipe over the PTO shaft so I could tilt the spline up or down and it sliped right in

I right clicked on the picture and left clicked on Properties. Then highlighted the URL. Then right clicked on the highlighted URL and left clicked Copy. After finishing this post I'll click the IMG box and right click to the right of

I don't think you need the spaces. I got into the habit of putting several periods after my name when including a URL to my post. Such as the CaseIH online catalog. Hi Butch, I should've read that before I posted it. Don't use any symbols such as these [ ] when posting a picture. Right click on the picture I posted, then left click on "Properties"
and you can view your picture's web site. Hal

I would say the spline inside is NOT hooked up. Better not be forcing things with the bolts or you will have more trouble. I'll be at RPRU
