H constant mesh gear

I"am trying to reinstall the differential shaft with the bearing off the same way I took it out after replacing constant mesh gear. The shaft will not drop into transmission case, mesh gear is catching front of tranny casing. Can someone tell me which way this gear is placed on shaft? Sides of gear are unequal in length. I may have it on the shaft the wrong way? Thanks matt

select start search here
type in farmall
scroll down to H
Select transmission ball bearing chassis.
Part #60 is a countershaft.
Part # 63 is the constant mesh, clear to me which side is which. JimN
