Need A Helpful Heloise Hint Re: Pre-Cleaner Jar

Howdy, boys: I can't get the jar off my Donaldson pre-cleaner. I have tried hot water on the pre-cleaner lid and cold water on the jar. No budge. I have twisted it hard enough that I was afraid the jar would shatter in my gloved hand. No budge. Any other tips?
As always, thanks in advance to all who help so many.

I suppose it is an original, correct jar? If not, just break it. Any wide mouth jar will fit right on there. If you don't want to break it, maybe use some penetrating oil and some gentle tapping around the perimeter. Eventually, it will loosen up.

Suggestion: Remove it from the tractor, turn it upside down, lay it on the workbench, squirt some A T fluid in and around the jar ring. Then give it a weekend of R. T. (Rest Treatment) Remove it Monday morning and clean up your mess.

Make a jar wrench from 2 2X4s and a couple of short pieces that just touch the corners of the jar on 4 sides. (a square hole cut with a saber saw in plywood will also do). Put Blaster on it, hold the metal, and turn the jar! JimN
