I've got a Farmall H that I put a loader on. My rear tires are not loaded. I did buy & install rear wheel weights (I think they are about 130lb ea). I'm still way light in the rear, I have the weight box off my 1963 Ford 4140 Industrial that I can make fit my H, but, I'm worried, it might be too much weight. I estimate the weight @ 1,600lbs (I used 18 80lb bags of cement to fill the box + the chains for the old 3pnt & the metal box itself), is this too much for the rear end of the H? I was going to weld a platform that I could bolt ontop of my drawbar & have the chains secure it around rear axels. I don't use the PTO. thanks

I think 1600 is excessive. Not that the H can,t handle it, but because it will be handling it all the time. Because it will be behind the axle, it will be substantially heavier than 1600 to the tractor, robbing weight from the front (desirable, but not to excess. One half of that Wt. would be my best guess. JimN
