Can someone tell me the paint scheme on a farmall cub. 64 I believe. Had the white radiator cover. Did the have silver wheels and does anyone know the best paint to get. Bob

No offense, but Tractor Supply is hardly the end-all, be-all of tractor paint... They have the more common and popular colors, but not all of them. Compared to the millions of red IH tractors produced, the few thousand Cubs that came painted IH Federal Yellow pales.

They do have rattle cans of Cub Cadet yellow, but no bulk paint.

You'll need to go to an IH dealer for the yellow.

On a 1964, I think everything but the hood, grill mesh, front wheels, and rear wheel centers, itself is yellow. The rest of the parts are white. At least that is how the 1964-1976 Cub toy I have here is painted.

Yes, please read my reply again. To summarize:

1. Tractor supply has Cub Cadet yellow in rattle cans. They do not have Federal Yellow.

2. The paint scheme for a 1964 FARMALL Cub in excruciating detail.

Get either Martin Senour Crossfire paint or PPG's Omni paint. Here's PPG's paint code for IH yellow 81518. It's listed for the Cub Cadet, but it may be the same paint. Here's a picture of a tractor painted by a farmer in Ohio. Actually his son did this one as a Christmas present for the owner's daughter who wanted it painted for her dad. Her dad bought it new in 1954 and it was painted with Martin Senour's Crossfire paint. Hal
PS: Here's one he painted yellow too.

(quoted from post at 17:03:18 04/12/09) I too would like to know the color of yellow as I went to tractor supply and did not find a cub yellow. THANKS STEVE
Unless you are doing touch up I would suggest buying a better grade of paint. It's well worth a few bucks more if you are repainting the entire tractor.

Paint Codes for the different Cubs are available in the Paint, Decals & Other Finish ?'s in the Farmall Paint Chart.

The server has pretty much all that you will need to maintain, repair, restore your Cub . Hope this helps..

If you are going to use say rattle can paint, then I would recommend one of two options.

1. Use CaseIH Iron Guard Paint available at any good dealer
2. Use a good quality automotive paint which can be loaded into a rattle can at any [b:0c6ce85c37][i:0c6ce85c37]GOOD[/i:0c6ce85c37][/b:0c6ce85c37] Auotomotive Finish Supplier such as NAPA (CMax here) standalones.

I prefer using Iron Guard cause it is compatible with the Dupont Centari system and it allows me to use catalysts if I desire.

Hope this helps
