What is a Cub lowboy worth? I beleive it to be a 1976 model. It
comes with a belly mower, a bush hog, and a grader blade. It has
good rear tires. It also comes with a service manual, operators
manual, and a parts book. I beleive $1400 is a good price? I am
the one buying. It is the yellow and white one with tall skinny rear
tires. It runs fairly good and mows good. Thank you for any and
all help.

I paid $1800 for my 1951 cub this winter with just a plow

Well i paid 4000 for my 1975 cub and blade and mower in real nice shape with good tires and it was ready to work. At 1400 if its in good shape its a steal.

If it is in fact a '76 model, you are looking at a numbered series lowboy, which is slightly different than the older, offset lowboys. The numbered series has an inline driveline, a more complex clutch setup with a higher HP engine and everything is mounted in a frame. The PTO is independent which is an inprovement over the older models.
Either way, old style lowboy or numbered lowboy, $1400 is not bad if everything is in good shape. Good Luck.

I recently paid $800 for a 1973 154 lowboy not running with woods belly mower.As you describe it,$1400 seems very reasonable.One Item you mentioned (bush hog)could sweetn the deal a lot if the emplament is indeed rhino and in good working condition. SOAP BOX,I am on a crusade to ban calling emplaments Brush Hog , Bush Hog or any other names that imply they were manufactured by Rhino.

Don't forget to go after all the people who call facial tissues "Kleenex," or the ones that call anti-sieze lubricant "NeverSeez."

How about the ones that call any cola drink "Coke?"

Either way $1,400.00US is a pretty fair price for a Cub in Good Condition. Add a Bush Hog belly mower and say a Cub-54 or 54-A blade, then you got even better.

I would also suggest to you that you click on my homepage link, it will take you to my Cub Manual Server and there is lots of Cub info there. Hopefully this would help you make a decision.

There are manuals for the grader blades -- all 3 versions of the Cub and Cub Lo-Boy blades, plus the IH-54 Blade for the Numbered Series as well as Belly Mower Manuals. Depends on what you call a brush hog.. is it a trade name or what you would describe as a class of mower?

Either way there are different manuals on a few different brush hog type mowers .. be they IH Danco, Woods or even Bush Hog brand.
