I need help with a F20 overdrive aux trans !!!

I dont know what brand box this is.
I just dont have the room to put in this main shaft(pic1-3). Do I need to take something apart???
Does anyone have one of these parts(pic4-6)?
I am missing the one that goes on the clutch output shaft.

That is a Heisler "8-speed" aux. trans. I can't say for a fact but I think the engine has to move forward to install one. I have one just like it that is really loose. Hope someone that actually knows something about them chimes in.

ive taken the off without moving the engine. they have to be 'bench assembled' then put in as a whole unit. you can eithe take the OD case back off, or slide your engine forward now

You cant put this on if you have it all assembled on the bench, due to there is no way to bolt the case to the trans with it assembled. Do you have any idea where I can find the gear adaptor that goes one the clutch output? It look just like the one im holding in the pics.

i meant put it in with all the shafts in place. of course you cant bolt it one with the outer cover on, duh.

lucky would be the term i would use if you can actually find a replacmenet gear for that. might have to have a machine shop make one.

Well I moved the motor forward and the box in completely.
I have a gear shop here in town, I'll check with them tommorrow to see if they can make me one. If not I have a idea on how to couple the two shafts together.

Yes you are missing the one part that goes on the clutch output shaft and the one that goes on the input shaft for the overdrive. there is also a spacer that goes inbetween the two and bolts them together. It also takes a shorter clutch output shaft to make everything work. I slid my engine forward a few inches to change out the back plate on the back of the bell housing and install the shorter clutch shaft. Hope this helps,
