ihc 400 ipto brake band adjustment

i spread manure and pto started to slip. it&t manual is poor. diagram ok. what is creeper band and what does it do ? is it closest to engine ? what is brake band ? how do you adjust each correctly? all crap about pawl and X mark is just 'ENGAGED' and disengage ? ihc manuals suck !

You can do a proper adjustment procedure following the book or just turn the adjustment screw nearest the tractor in until you have about the width of the pawl tension when engaged. . The marks they are talking about are just so you put the pawl half way between disengaged and engaged, turn in both screws until snugged down, and then back off, I think it is 1 1/2 turns. Should be able to turn shaft with a short punch through hole in shaft when it is in middle position. ( screws are under the little cap on top and probably rusted) pretty cut and dried.
