1066 Turbo on a 986

I have a 1066 that I had to cut a hole in the block on an emissions program here in Texas to get a new tractor, was wondering if I could use the turbo on my 986. If so, how hard would it be.....if anyone needs any parts let me know, just had the head, injection pump, and new injectors done last year or if someone has a 1066 with a bad motor, might consider buying the tractor.

They are both 400 series motors, so you should have every thing there to make the switch (manifolds, cross over pipes etc.).

Can you elaborate a little more on why you had to cut a hole in the 10...the "emissions thing".

...... TIA ..........Mark

The state has a program to replace older tractors, construction equipment, and over the road trucks if you operate in certain counties, mainly surrounding major cities to help reduce emissions. Basically you disable the old tractor and the state helps pay for a new one, you have to cut the frame rails and put a 3" hole in the block. Here is the website http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/implementation/air/terp/
