First of all I want to thank you all for all the help you have given me. Here is what I have. I Have mag ign and no lights inatalled with a 12V battery. I inatalled a 12V gen it charges 12-15 amps. However it is hooked up with the old 4 pos BDHL switch. There is a 3 pos VR with only the first 2 term used. I think it is a C/O only now. My question is how do I hook up a true VR to the system I know have. Can I use the 3 pos VR that is there now or do I have to get a different VR. I hope I have made myself clear and thak you again. I can not find a 12V Gen in Bob M diagrams.

Is the Delco Remy tag on the 12v gen. www.nnalert.com has the correct regulators for the I-H generators.

i have a couple tractors converted with 12v gennys. the lhdb lite switch was used with the cut out regulator. with your system with the vr you do not wire thru the light switch. your bat wire will run from the battery, thru the ammeter and on to the bat term on the vr. if you have a 4 terminal vr, you will have L-lights, Batt-battery, F-field and usually on the opposite side or under the vr the A-armature. 3 terminal wont have the L for lights.
