460 horse and torque

I"m trying to find how much horse and torque a 460 diesel makes. My buddy has one it seems kinda low on power. We both hooked up to the same plow 3-14 in the same field it has a hard time in 3rd with the t/a back and my stock 48 JD A can pull it good in 3rd which is a little faster than the farmall. I would think the 460 would out pull the A. Also The injectors were just rebuilt. Thanks for the help.

Probably not much help, since all I can provide is some numbers from a sales brochure from back in the day. The diesel was advertised at 52.19 on the belt and 47.99 at the drawbar.

The '48 A should be around 35 at the drawbar.

Nobody knows a torque number I would figure double the horse kinda like a diesel truck but I im not sure. Dblair thanks for the info all I know is we were both in 3rd and I was following him it didnt take very long for me the catch up. Thats why im thinking its low for power.

I had a 460 diesel back in the 70's and early 80's back when we still plowed ground. I pulled 3-14's most of the time in 3rd gear. There were places where I had to use 2nd gear in this clay ground where I am from.I do know that a JD A would not pull 3 plows in this part of the country. The 460 if up in good shape should be turning factory min of 52 hp. Around here 4020 JD's and IH 806's 4 plows is all they could handle. I used a pull type plow with the 460. It did not have a fast hitch.
