m radiator question

putting the 48 m back together, on the u-shaped bracket that bolts to the radiator, i cant remember if it lays on the outside. heres a pic with it on the outside. i kinda think it bolts behind the flange on the radiator. been a while and cant remember, and dont have another m here at the shop to look at

The way you have it pictured is how it was on the M I was working on. I put it back on the same way and it seems to work just fine that way

thanks rich, i kept lookin at it and the more i looked, the less i was sure it was on right.

But of course I can not say it is right since who knows how many time it may have been taken off the M I have but that's how it was so that is how it is now

Just took a walk over to the storage shed and checked my M, bracket goes on as pictured.

I went out and looked at my M, but that bracket is totally missing. I think whoever did the 12 volt conversion determined that it was not necessary. I think I need to find one.

Went and looked at my 54 SMTA. It has "split " brackets. One on each corner so it appears "twisting" wasn't the issue.
