m carberator/governor

so i put a new governor on my m, it races now at times. my manual says i should adjust carb to governor? the only thing that seems funny, besides racing is when you pull throttle lever back, its a top one with a dish shape that has grooves in it, it doesn"t engage gas untill you get to almost full throttle and then it jumps out of groove forwards to almost no gas. any ideas? thanks kevin

Were the governor bolts to the carb, inside there is a small square pin that must match up into a slot in the throttle on carb. That's were I think you problem is. Brent

I had a heck of a time getting my W6 carb mated up to the governor control, took about 4 tries. Just be patient, and a good flashlight comes in handy.

On the lever problem, it may need a bit of filing (and or) a tab of weld then filing. to get it to stay in the notches. The springs wear and rust thin as well. JimN
