I rebuilt the carb on my M, but problem! First of all I not the best at rebuilding a carb. Not much experience as all our other tractors have always been diesel. Anyway, when I send gas to the carb fuel pours out of the opening that is just above the choke plate. Would that be caused by a stuck float or did I mess up somewhere? Any suggestions or method to determine where I went wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well first of all did you set up the float? If you did maybe the float has a crack in it and is full of fuel. Im not a carb expert but i have been playing with a couple lately. I would guess that it is the float. Hope that helps a little Erik..

Sometimes the fuel needle above the float needs a slight tap to initialy seat, all the carbs I have rebuilt I have had to do this to.

Is the float rubbing on the side of the carb bowl?
With the carb in hand, hold the air cleaner opening vertical & shake the carb left & rignt. You should hear the float moving from open to closed if it is free to swing on it's hinge pin.

In addition to all the other good advice, the seat for the valve must be TIGHT against a good gasket.
