The steering shaft snapped off on my grandfathers 1940 Farmall Model H.
I got another from my parts tractor and found a part that may have been a felt seal.
Also a part that may be a bearing, it has a number on it: Aetna Made in USA (the IH symbol) 354676R91
I sure would like exploded views with part numbers and who sells that felt seal? thanks!

CNH/CIH = "FIAT", the current parent company of IH, Case and New Holland.

Go to CNH.Com.

Then, select CASE?IH, the select your area, and drill down through the menus 'til you get to "search for parts".

The links below do not work. Simply do a parts search at www.caseih.com. First put in your country, then at the top of the screen is parts and service, click parts search and follow the menu. These are recent changes I did not know about.

When you get to the search area type in Farmall H. As stated they have changed the site -- post back if you have problems.

(quoted from post at 15:20:21 04/05/09) Bruce, were you able to go the the CNH/CIH site and figure it out?
search for caseihparts, pic parts and service on the search page, click on the red 'right here' another screen will pop up and ask for model.

Another way to look is go to www.cngco .com, then on the home page hit Case IH parts catalog. When that comes up, at model put H. Hit chassis then # 122 chassis steering mechanisem up. Go to # 43 and thats the felt. There not described very good, one says washer and the other calls it a spacer. Not all parts are the same on early H tractors to later ones and from the thrust bearing # you give the shaft you have to put in is for a newer tractor than 1940. Think the felt for your tractor is discontinued.
