Overspray on tires

I have done it with a power brush on a grinder. Just be careful not to over do it. It does remove a thin layer of rubber.

I have a spray can of Gumout carb n choke cleaner in one hand and a rag in the other, spray a lil on the rag n wipe the overspray..Works like a charm DO NOT GET IT ON THE PAINTED WHEEL OF COURSE.....Then one can use the M E Miller black tire "stuff" to dress up n shine the wheel. Kinda sissy lookin so shiny n bright but sure is purdyyyyyyyy

I know a pro that uses Laquer Thinner. Never masks tires.

Gary, My dentist sells me a box of 200 gloves for 5 bucks. They work great and thro away.

if you are going to use chemicals such as lacquer thinner or acetone, pick up some disposable nitrile gloves. they are chemical resistant. thinner and acetone get absorbed directly thru the skin into the blood stream. nastty stuff. also use in a well ventilated area as the vapors are highly explosive. respirator would be nice. both chemicals are hard on the rubber on the tires.

Duanes: I paint the sidewalls with concentrated liquid soap being careful not to get any on the rim. After painting, break the overspray "crust" on the tire with some pointed object so water can get under the paint and scrub off the overspray with a brush and water. Let the soap dry a while before painting so it will stay in place. I just cleaned up the tires on a freshly painted tractor and I think I was all done in less than an hour. Try this--it works great.
