300 Torque amplifier

Does anyone know where I can get a rebuilt torque amplifier for a 300. I finally tore into mine and just to replace the damaged parts will cost over $1400 according to my local IH dealer. The guys here at Kaddatz Equipment say I can get one out of either Kansas or Missouri for just over $800 plus freight to get it here and for my core going the other way. I appreciate any help....Dan

How difficult is it to replace the TA? I'm going to tear into Dad's 300 soon to put in a new clutch and TA. Both are going bad.

I have them a lot cheaper than that. Is that just for the t/a? Standard or heavy duty? With or without belt pulley? Feel free to send me an email.

Thanks guys,I appreciate all your info. I have one other option. I talked to Kaddatz again and they have 2-300s for salvage. They will sell me the TA for $250 and if it doesn't work, I can take it back. I know that the chance of it working are not great, but, if the parts I need are good, I can scavange them to complete mine. There are 2 down there that I may have to go through to find what I need. It just might work. What do y'all think about this.

I think that's a lot of work to go through to find out a t/a is bad. I have the 363854 with or without belt pulley for $525 plus $100 core or I have replacement parts. What are you looking for exactly? Ramp and rollers is my guess. If you want everything to work correctly you will need to machine the carrier if there is any wear on the seal and roller surfaces. Any questions feel free to email me.

Not too bad to do the job if you have the splitting stands. Nothing special for tools. Depends on what kind of knowledge you have. Once the tractor is split it is pretty easy to figure out how everything comes apart. Just make sure you go get a book and set all linkages to spec during reassembly.

Thanks, Kevin. You're probably right about the work part. I actually don't mind that because I learn a lot by taking things apart and putting them back together. However, I may take you up on one of your TA's. Mine is a standard 300 w/belt pully. Where are you located? Dan
