all this time i"ve been working on this tractor thinking it was a 200 then vawal, the hood says 230. is it 12 v instead of 6 volt? points plugs the same as c, 200?

(quoted from post at 13:05:31 04/01/09) all this time i"ve been working on this tractor thinking it was a 200 then vawal, the hood says 230. is it 12 v instead of 6 volt? points plugs the same as c, 200?
What does the serial plate say? What is the serial number?

The 12 v was changed later even if a 230. The 200 had touch control front hydraulics and a cylinder block under the gas tank with rocker arms extending out on each side. Not so for the 230. Front lift hydraulic cylinders would have been external and possibly not even present. Otherwise, there were small differences with the 230 having slightly more hp.

Both were all 6 volt from the factory. Look for the block part number, partly behind oil filter. 200 would be 354898 R2 and 230 would be 366204 R1. Then you can go to date codes if necessary Z is 54, A is 55, B is 56, C is 57 and D is 58.

so, the number on block for
230 is 3548o98R1
c is 251089R1
super c is 354898R1
m is 6722

so i guess i just treat 230 as a c with rear hydraulics and fast hitch. still can't get it to run, has spark, fuel, did all that was suggested

L Mack: I should have said that, yes there was an R3. That R number changed with casting runs of a same casting. I expect that indicates there were minor changes to a part.
