sickle mowers

Done a lot of research on this one myself. Put a picture up if you can. IF not, then narrow it down a little. The type of drive system on the mower will cut it down some. Pitman drive or belt drive? IH made a whole series of mowers starting in the late 50's called "balanced head mowers" which had a belt drive system. You said bolt on....was that in the rear or is it mid-mount? Does it have a trailing wheel? Picture and/or more details would help.

Sickle mowers have an uncanny way of looking like piles of scrap metal when not mounted. I have not actually seen one, but that has all the look of a #16 mower made in the 1940's to early 50's. Ran off a belt and pretty sure it had a pitman. I have some pictures here of one and they look about the same.

Wayne I never knew the model number but I mowed about 700 acres of hay with one on a Super C.Good mower and did a excellent job.

Looks like a C-24. I assume there is a lever on the left side that connects via a rod to the Touch-Control.

Jim Becker is right on. That is a C-24 mounted mower. They are top notch mowers and I have mowed no telling how many acres of hay with one just like it. Be careful crossing ditches or you will be stuck.
