1486 Fuel gauge

1486 Fuel gauge,dual tanks, regesters 1/4 full only, new sending units & a new gauge. Still the same. Any ideas short of new wireing harness.

If you have replaced both sender and the gauge myself i would be doing some more testing like the grounds . Pull the wire off the bottom sender and ground it to the frame and see if the gauge goes to full . Use and ohm 's meter to test . ya may want to pull the sending unites and test them also.

Checked it today, found that the lower tank, the ground was at fault, and the upper tank needs wire from sending unit to guage. Tractor had sat in a barn for the last several years.
