Hi,
I"m new to the forum. I have a few Cubs but I need some help with my grandfather"s 1950 H. He just got the belly pump rebuilt and wants to put his #31 IH loader back on. He forgets how it is suppossed to hook up (he"s 85) and I"ve never attached it before. I remember he had some threaded pipe using a "T" but thats about it. Each hydraulic cylinder on the loader (its a trip bucket) has one input line and one return line. He has quick connect hydraulic couplers on the end of these lines. On the tractor however, nothing is attached to it. I have some threaded pipe and some quick connect couplers but I"m not sure how to route them. Like which part of the lift-all do I attach each line to? If anyone could help or has a diagram that would be great. I couldnt find anything in my shop manuals and I dont want to ruin his rebuilt pump. This tractor means a lot to him and I would like to help him get it working again. Thanks for your help!

I'll try to describe how the 31 hooks up.

The bottom (rear) of each lifting cyclinder connects to the output of the liftall (connect to the front output on the driver's left side).
The top (front) of each lifting cyclinder is the "Return". They both are connected to the liftall "filler" pipe using a pipe "T".

The liftall lifts the loader and gravity lowers it.

okay thanks. So your saying the return lines connect to a "T" and I put that "T" where the cap is to fill the lift-all oil. About the output lines, Theres two of them but you said they connect on the output pipe on the drivers left side? Is there one output pipe from the pump and they both connect there or are there two output pipes from the pump on the left side? Thanks!

Connect each cylinder to the output on the same side.
On the driver's right hand side, there is only one output. Connect the right hand side cylinder to it.
On the driver's left hand side, there are two outputs. Connect the left hand cyclinder to the front output -- the rear output has a built-in delay for use with cultivators.
