Value of F-20 options

I realize this may be hard to answer, but I have found a 1936 F-20 for sale and when I checked it out I noticed a few things like the Heisler bellhousing and ring gear for a starter. The starter is missing, however. The manifold is the all fuel one, but I have not seen any in better shape. The thing most interesting to me is the gear shift cover has 3rd and 4th switched, indicating the factory high speed 4th gear. The tractor is on cut off wheels, tires shot, but engine loose. I am just curious if these options or add-ons are desirable enough to pay a little more for an otherwise average tractor. Thanks you for any advice. BT

BT that tractor is desirable if you collect F series,The starter system would bring 600-1000 by its self, and the road gear is worth 5-6 hundred more

ive sold 4 starter setups in the past, and they only bring 250-450 dollars. ones with a generator will bring closer to 750. inline generator will bring 1500 by itself.

does the tractor just have the 'fast fourth' transmission, or does it also have a road gear added on the front of the transmission??

in that condition i would say around 300 dollars for it.

No, it does not have the road gear on the front, just the faster fourth gear at least according to the cover plate. The starting is what concerns me because the main ingredient is missing. I didn't want to pay any extra for the bellhousing only to find that starters are impossible to find or afford. BT

The starters are not that hard to find. I believe they are old Chevrolet starters and should be available from an old car supply house.

Even without the starter, the tractor should be worth $700-1,000.

If, you can get the tractor for $300 your one lucky guy.I think closer to $800 -$1000 is more realistic.
