706 Battery Height

I was time to swap the battery on my gas 706 but when I put the new one in, the positive lug hits the gas tank. The original IH battery was slightly shorter but I didn't like how close it got to the gas tank. Is there a replacement deep battery box or does someone have a solution to this problem?

Just another one of those frustrating changes that comes along. I think I modified the holder to drop it down some. Not real sure of that, been a long time.

Ya got the wrong battery as there are the 3 EE's then the 3 EH battery's For a 706 ya want the 3 EE

The 3 EE may still have taller posts and give you a problem also.

Every time we ordered batteries for the 756 we wound up with 3EE's. Try a set of 2EE's, that's what the 756 took. My uncle left the 3EE's in once and one rubbed a hole in the fuel tank.

I guess you can pick the answer you like best and go from there. What I have found is regardless of which size, number or whatever, a lot of the new batteries have a longer post and give you grief with getting covers on them or fitting along side the fuel tank.
