loader swap 350 to 340?

anyone know if a loader from a 350 can be bolted up to a 340 or will I need to do some "customizing"? Saw an ad but it didn't list the brand/model. thanks in advance!

Farmall or Utility? A Farmall 350 is very different from any type of 340.

It also depends a lot on the loader. If it's the right loader, like an IH 1701 for example, it will have a mounting bracket that covers many different models.

If it's a "pipe loader," that is, made from bent pipes, check it over carefully. These loaders are not all that strong and are only meant for light use. Of course, they were used hard on farms.

MKirsch: Why Farmall 350, front end of a Farmall 350 front bolster is exact same length from rear axle housing as the 350 Utility. Yes I agree the 340 Farmall and Utility are shorter than a 350, about 3" shorter. Even at that it's only a minor fabrication to change a 350 loader to a 340.

There is much more involved changing a loader from a 6 cylinder to a 4 cylinder tractor, or vice versa than changing from a Farmall to a utility of the same model. Believe me Kirsch, I've changed two loaders from 300 Utility to a 300 Farmall. I've also changed a loader from Farmall 504 to a Farmall 560. So on Mike"s question 3" is a lot less than 6". 6" being the difference between 504 and 560.
