A friend of mine just bought a 48' H with disc brakes, there not like normal IH brakes......did someone make a conversion for these?

Yep there was an aftermarket conversion. Can't recall the name right now but someone will be along to tell us.

MJF: The name George can't think of is Lambert, don't know how long they made brakes for H and M. Most of it occured in late 40s.

do they look like this?
sorry the picture is turned, dont know how to straighten it.

H's & M's could be ordered from the factory with Lambert disk brakes on them, or the dealer could install them. Friend has an H with them, they work MUCH BETTER then the IH disks on my Super C and the IH's on my brother-in-law's SM. If I had the parts to put band brakes on my Super C, I would. I don't know how many $$ I've spent on my Super C nor how many times I've had them apart & they still are not as effective as the bands on my H's. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

I've got a 1950 H with the Lamberts. The left brake works very good, the right brake has good pedal response, but is very ineffective. I'm thinking the easiest and cheapest way to fix it will be to replace both sides with original style band brakes.
