200 Plow (294?)

I have a 2 point hitch plow for my 200 that was made up just like the 294/295. I do not know the model number. It is 2-14's and we (that is my dad) wore out a set of wings and they have been replaced. The plow is in good shape except for the trail wheel which is rusted out (probably worn completely through). I am tempted to fab a replacement, but does anyone know where a trail wheel can be found? (By the way the 200 now purrs like a kitten!!) Larry

Hi LMack,

Thats the set-up I believe George was telling me I needed for my Farmall C and Super C.
The trail wheel shouldn't be to hard to find. Couldn't you find one through Case/International?

Bob,

From the other thread, it sounds like you need a mounted plow, not a Fast Hitch plow like this one. You could add Fast Hitch to your tractors, but like the plows you're looking for, they are fairly rare to come across and pretty expensive when you do find one...

You can try the CaseIH dealers but unless you luck out and find one with a NOS wheel in the back from decades ago, you'll probably strike out. I've been surprised before, so it doesn't hurt to try, but the odds are against you.

Good luck in your search. The only advice I can give either of you is to look EVERYWHERE for what you want. Get out the yellow pages and start calling around to local tractor salvage yards. Boots on the ground is what is going to get you the part/implement you're looking for.

Hi Mkirsch,

"You know what"? Thats probably the best piece of information yet! I will see what the other farmers in my area are using and what they may have tucked back in the shed or left in the field somewhere. There probably are a few gold mines around no one knows about. Be glad when this snow goes so I can see better. Thanks!

Bob,
I can tell you that my dad thought the mounted type for a C did a better job of plowing than the Fast-Hitch type we had for a Super C... he had both at one time or another. I only used the F-H type and to me as long as it turned the dirt over and "looked good from the road" it was fine with me... Dad was much more critical.

Your plow is a C-20 more than likely. It should also be adjustable fron 12 to 16 inch bottoms. I have one here that was dad's. Someone stole my fast hitch off of mine but I have the rest of the plow including the furrow wheel. Think I will hold on to it a while in hopes of finding a hitch.

The furrow wheel from other curved beam plows will fit it.

Unless your tractor has the 2 point fast hitch the C-20 will not fit your tractor. Don't think your tractors have the fast hitch.

The C-294 is not a fast hitch plow. It is rear mounted but not fast hitch. Mounts and plow must be installed and taken off tractor together.

The C-295 is the same plow but the mounting brackets are a bit different and the plow can be taken off the tractor while the mount stays on the tractor.

Hi,

I just want to thank you guys in my need of plows. I am sure something will come up, and then more questions will arrive as to what to do with this plow, how does it attach to the tractor, etc. Yes it would be nice to have the 2PTH plow system, but right now even the little #8 Genius looks good. I probably end up with
5-6 different plows on the lawn needing work. Thanks again.
