Super A head bolts

Does anybody have a diagram showing head bolt tightening sequence for a Super A? Also, I"ve found torque specs from 60lb. to 80lb. What is right?

As for a sequence start in the middle and work out in a circular fashion. It's best to torque in three stages say 35, 65, and 85 foot pounds. I would recommend the 80-85 foot pound torque as those heads have a nasty tendency to leak. Sam

wcroom: I agree with Sam, years ago specs called for 60-65 ft lbs and changing head gaskets was quite common, changed a few myself. Back in 1993 put in a new gasket I tightened my SA head to 85 ft lbs, problem seems to have gone away.

Thanks very much guys. My parts should be here in the next couple of days. Can't wait to get started. Mowing season is almost on me.

I really appreciate having access to good advice. You guys are great!
