need help, what is this pto piece for

When i cleaned up the shop, i also came across this piece. Im going to assume another part for a Farmall H? If so, what does this go to, and how to hook it up? Is this also another rare piece? I never seen it in a parts book. The back side looks like it also slides into a pto shaft.

What do you mean by a Dorf"N"? Does it hook up on the pto shaft on a Farmall H? If so im going to guess the other post about the belt pulley looking thing can mount there too?

It attaches to the PTO of a Ford 9N, 2N or 8N tractor to extend the SHORT factory PTO shaft rearward when using certain attachments, and I THINK would be used along with the swinging drawbar attachment to the 3-point hitch.

OEM PTO shaft on those tractors was 1-1/16" in diameter. The adapter you have MAY or may NOT fit that size, and MAY or may NOT convert it to the industry-standard 1-1/8".

Post over at the "N" Forum and someone will give you MORE details.

P.S.... wire brush the dirt off of the main body and get the casting # and run it past the Ford boys.

Well i think i know where that came from. I believe my grandpa inherited those pieces along with other stuff when his best friend passed away many years ago, I know Hugh had another tractor, going to assume Ford as he had lots of Ford attchments and along with a fairly new Ford tractor.
