Farmall 300 IPTO help, PLEASE

My Farmall 300 IPTO has been making some nasty noise around the bellhousing area. I drained the fluids and pulled the inspection covers, only to find the PTO driven gear missing teeth, I'm sure the IPTO drive gear is shot too. Does anyone have or know where I can find these gears. Looks like I have more to get into than I wanted... Thank you for your help.

If you are not in a hurry, you can get what you need from eBay at low cost. Otherwise, most salvage yards that deal in old IH parts should have the parts. I'll bet that Steel Wheel Ranch could deliver the parts to your shop by Saturday.

You should bear in mind that the splines on the driven gear (the one in your picture) and shaft might be worn. That or the roller bearing that supports the shaft might be bad. Sometimes there is a chain of small failures that lead to a larger one. I replaced the gear, shaft, and bearing on a SMTA before the gear failed. I was replacing the TA at the time.

I changed the same gear on my 300...the splines on the other end of the shaft were twisted!

Have fun on the tear down..

Thank you, I think JP Salvage may have what I need, just need to call them back when I get the tooth count
