Help! I have a chance to buy a wheatland tractor. It is a super 600. I am trying to find out all I can about this tractor. The hood/tin work is gone, so is this a farmall or international. What is the difference between a 600,W6, and super 600? This is a gas. It runs and drives . What years were they made? value?

I do not think there is a super 600. Badges are easy to make up. SW6TA yes. Not much difference, between them Early SW6 Had no TA, late W6TA did (If I remember correctly)

The 600 is a continuation of the W9, which is larger than a W6.

The W6 uses the same engine as the Farmall M.

The W9, 600, and 650 use a larger engine, and very few if any of the parts will interchange with a M, W6.

the WD9 was changed to a superWD9 with a hp increase of about 15hp.in 1953.then in 1956 the international 600 came out for one year. basically same tractor as super WD9 with changes to fenders, flatform ,instrument panel, international name in crome on sides.crome on grill sides, and so on.then the 650 replaced the 600. it had a white grill, easy to tell the diff.otherwise the same.since it is gas makes it worth more yet.no such thing as a super in any of these models. no super w9 gas either.they are internationals not farmalls.it is a good collector item.started talking about diesels till realized its a gas.

just a follow up to Jim, the super w6ta came out in 1954 after serial #10000.there was about 3000 built.they came with a live pto also. if it came with the ta delete then it had the round sw6ta on side instead of the one with the wing on the bottom that said torque amplifier.

nik: No such thing as a Super 600, with no sheet metal it could be Super W9, 600 or 650. All these wheatlands are Internationals, nothing Farmall or row crop about them.

W6 is a size smaller tractor, later became the Super W6, then Super W6TA, then W-400 and later still W-450. Those do have a Farmall versions called M, Super M, Super MTA, 400 and 450.

The letter series ended in 1954, 00 series started in 54 ended in 56, 50 series started in 56 ended in 58. This is true of all models no matter how large or or small, excepting the Cub. There never was an IH Super numbered series tractor.

nik... give us a serial# and its easy to tell what it is.cant be a super 9 gas because there was none built, only in the diesel version. but still its easy to tell without the hood or grill on.

it's probably a W9 or 650. 600 gas tractors are extremely rare. i can't remember how many were made but i think it's well under 100. no such thing as a super 600 though.
