SH Clutch Plate

How thick is a new SH clutch plate/friction disk? Just got mine off and its right about 5/16" thick. Looks like there is still a decend amount of life left in it.

Looking at a new one will tell the tale. Howrver, there is probably life in it If it is a riveted on friction material, the rivets should be at least .050" below the surface to be reasonable. If less, there is less life left than I would choose for a user tractor (especially if used with a loader) If the tractor is a hobby use, or light farming with infrequent clutch use, I would go with .030" to the rivets. If it is a bonded clutch, compare to new. (disks are pretty cheap, so spending now to avoid a split in 5 years might be reasonable. JimN
