i have read on page 8 farmall identification and still need help? i was told that there is a tag somewhere around the seat area. I have not find any. It is a cub with a 6 volt system it has hydraulic for the front and rear. It had a slide that you move back nad forth to raise and lower. The decals are still on the tractor mcmormick farmall cub. I just not sure what year it is. Any help would be apreciated...
Thanks Eric

I don't have a Cub, but Guy Fay's data book says the chassis serial is on a plate on the right side of the steering gear housing, engine serial is on the left side of the block, right of carburetor. The A, B, and Super A had the chassis serial on the inside of the left seat bracket.

here is a pic of my cub. if you follow the steering shaft down from the steering wheel in this photo, there the steering shaft goes into the front bolster, you can see the serial number plate right behind it. the silver plate.

I may be responsible for the confusion. Is this the Cub that was supposed to be a narrow front? If it's a Cub, the plate will be right where glennster described it, up by the forward end of the steering shaft. The plate back by the seat would have been if it turned out to be a B or BN.

If it does have a narrow front, then it's quite possible that in the modification the plate was lost.
