Farmall 300 Carberation

I have a Farmall 300 T/A . I am having a problem with gas dripping from the bottom of the carb. I have replace the float needle valve twice and I still have the problem. The float does not have a leak in it. I appears for some reason the gas does not stop flowing to the carburator and it floods out. Any thoughts???

3 of them.
The needle fails to seal on the seat either from a hair or flake of junk, or from a slight imperfection in the needle or seat. (old worn needles and seats leak from the fact that the seat and needle have a very wide contact ring that allows any slight accidental needle misalignment to upset the seal)

The seat could be leaking where it is screwed into the body.

The float could be touching the bowl binding and not floating. Float drop specification keeps the float from going low enough to touch the carb body/bowl. If it does touch when no fuel is in the carb, it can stick and never float at all.

Always shut off the fuel when shutting off the tractor, just make it a part of the process each time. It is a gotta do on gravity fed systems, they can fill a barn with fuel in 20 minutes. JimN
