and pulled it. had to change the mag plug wire settings 3 times, and the compression was so great I couldnt hardly gewt it to turn the wheels in 3rd gear, ND, it threw the battery and started anyway LOL Im, told this H is a 48, its serial # is FBH - 303902XI. Is it.? Does it yet have band brakes, or has it gone to disc, AND, how do I change the brakes on it? ALSO, Need the piece that connects the right brake pedel to the right brake arm itself. On the left side, its a rod in a U shape with a spring attached. ALSO< Wheres the cheapest place to buy steering wheels, The H and my Cub both need one.

It's a 49. Unless it has the optional Lambert brakes, it has bands. Just remove the covers and replace the bands, be sure to adjust the screw on the bottom of the cover -- you really need an Operator's manual. The seals are likely leaking, you will see that when you remove the cover. They come out with some difficulty. As to the parts, the cheapest and most reliable place to get the parts you mentioned is Steel Wheel Ranch. Call Mike there. New parts, and old parts, as it is a long term family salvage yard specializing in IH. None better. Mikes dad had it before him.
