I am restoring my H tractor and the serial # plate is wore bad. I cannot see all the numbers. Is there any way to find out what that serial # was? Or am I out of luck?

Thanks in advance

If it has the original engine the engine serial # stamped in engine block. Located in the area below the first spark plug will be the same as tractor.

I have a super "M" with no serial # tag. Would the tractor serial# be stamped in that block location
as well.Thanks for any help.

Jim answered your question, but yes if its a gas the engine # will be in the same area. If original engine the # could tell which month tractor was assembled in and narrow down what # range tractor was.

If your H has got the original block, look on a smooth flat spot below the #1 spark plug hole. The serial # is stamped there. Then have a new tag made with that number if the casting codes match.
