Just curious if the brakes are wet or dry. If they are wet, then... uh oh.
If they are dry, then... uh oh again.
I took the left side apart, and someone had worn the lining completely off, and shoved a piece of rubber tire in there. Everything was wet, and oily, most of the bare casting was still shiny(could be plated, I don't know). There was no fluid in there, though. I would think an oil bath would have poured out. I would also think that the oil bath would be the same fluid as teh rear end of transmission, with an oil passage. There's a lot of rubber shrapnel in there, so I didn't see an oil passage, but it could be there. Chances are, if this is the case, my rear end has no fluid in it. Also, if they are supposed to be dry brakes, then there is a chance that the rear end still has no fluid in it, since there was a bunch of it in the brake cover and it could have all leaked out. Big "uh oh" either way. I need a brake band for that side at the least, and I either need to get some fluid in the rear end, or check it, which means drilling out the plug which has collected water and then rusted out round. (The fill plug, I assume is near the bottom of the dash panel, which appears to have had a square drive top to remove it. Unfortunately, someone tried to remove it, and only rounded it out.)
