706 wiring?

I have removed my generator in the winter to work on the governor and carb. Putting it back together I have a good sized wire coming from the dash area through a hanger on the front of carb and is long enough to reach generator, but for the life of me I don't remember where it should fasten????? Generator anchor bolt like a ground or to one of the two little generator stems which I have the little wires hooked to, or something else around the carb??? HELP!

Well the generator should have the LIGHT BLUE wire to the armature and the yellow to the field and a BLACK wire to the fuel shut off solenoid on the carb. IF ya don't have a shut off solenoid then get one and put it on the carb.

Tractor Vet, am I correct in believing the Fat wire he is talking about goes to the Arm (biggest) terminal on the Gen., and the Black (fuel shutoff) also goes there for a ON/Off signal to the fuel solenoid. While the remaining wire goes to the Field (small) terminal? JimN

There should be three wires coming from the left side behind the air filter bracket . A lite blue in 12 ga. a yellow in about 14 ga. and a black one in 14 ga. The lite blue is to the armature the yellow is the field and the black goes to the shut down solenoid . Now there could be a wire for and air filter restriction gauge and there could be a wire for the horn if equiped. But off hand with out really thinking about it for a while I can not remember the other colors .

The black wire to the fuel shut off comes off the ignition coil resister top terminal. Then from their a black runs back to a multiple connecter in dash.
