Super H rear end bearings

Ive gotten to the point where the super h been sitting in a pile of parts in the garage for too long and just want to get it together and out of there. To do this I have to find a bunch of rear end bearings for the axles, differential, etc. I called the local Case IH dealership and they were discontinued. I checked this web site and they dont have them. I heard Napa cant match them because of the goofy bearing numbers. Mine are shot and want a brand new tractor when I get done. Any recomendations or leads would be appreciated. Thanks, andy

if you don't have a old equipment friendly dealer near you take the bearings to a bearing supply place and they will measure them and cross them over. i have a ih bearing crossover book around here somewhere. you are lucky that ih used standard bearing sizes unlike their steel link chain that was their own odd size on some things.

Just because one dealer says no there is always someone who wont keep looking. You always have the old ones for measurements and always a place to get new ones.

I've good luck obtaining bearings/seals for my Farmalls from my local Kaman Industrial branch. They can cross the IHC part numbers off the old parts with other mfr's equivalents.

Prices are generally better than at the CIH dealer. Also if the parts are not in stock they can get 'em in 1 - 2 days.

WHY don't you POST the numbers off of the bearings you are looking for????????

There's LOTS of help in these two books, but it's AWFUL hard to help you without knowing exactly what you are looking for!

Bob, CNH has all the transmission bearings for the Super-H except the inner and outer axle bearings, The inner bearing is ST227 and the outer is ST328. I have not been able to find a cross referance online for those numbers.

If case IH discontinued them it was within last year as I bought a whole pile for both my H's in last two years, cheapest I could find was at CaseIH. NAPA was way off.

I have an old IH cross reference bearing catalog. It says the ST-227 is New Departure 14234 H. It also gives another IH number L-260 for the ST-227. The ST328 is IH PC-265 or New Departure 68466 D. New Departure is out of business, but a bearing house should be able to cross reference the ND numbers. Why not try one of the on line IH dealers. I bet they can get the bearings for you.

Not a problem at all. 95% of the bearings used in the Farmalls are actually standard metric bearings. I replaced 100% of the ones in my '54 SH. I bought some from McMaster Carr and most from a local bearings place here in Milwaukee. For starters: Trans main shaft rear - 6309 (45x100x25) / Trans driving shaft rear - 6308 (40x90x23)/ Trans countershaft rear - 6209 (45x85x19) / Trans countershaft front - 6206 (30x62x16) / Trans driving shaft front - 6207RR (35x72x17 w/ring) / Trans main shaft pilot bearing (358036R91) can be purchased at your IH dealer. / Differential - 6213 (65x120x23) / Bull pinion shafts - 6211 (55x100x21) / Rear axle outer - 6213 (65x120x23 shielded one side), you can buy shielded two sides and pop one shield out / Rear axle inner - 6212 (60x110x22) / Let me know if you want the phone number of my bearing guy, I'm sure he would ship it all to you, his price is the best I've found. He can do all the grease seals too.

Update. CaseIH has the inside and outside rear axle bearings to. The inner is ST227B and the outer is ST328A. So all trans and rearend bearings for the Super-H can be bought from a CaseIH dealer.
