Question 1 / I have a Farmall 460 and I would like to know the weight of the tractor. It has a narrow front, no water in the rear tires, no fast hitch,no belt pully and came with a T/A. Question 2 / Can the rear ends fail even if the tractor has the latest and greatest update done by IH?

To put it bluntly, they still tore up final drives, just not as readily. IH put in the original upgrade of bull gears, bull pinion, differential, diff bearings, bull pinion ball bearings etc at a no cost to customer basis however, the bower flat roller bearing on pinion shaft, inside axle and bull pinion and better out side axle bearing was a customer option offered at a very reasonable price at a later date. I put in ten update pkgs in 4 and 560's and many of the bearing packages later on. I also put a 560 up date of bull gears etc in a 450. That was in the days when these tractors did the work, now days they don't give problems around here. My advice , let it slip a little, tires are still cheaper than gears, look at them as your slip clutch.
