Farmall C value?

What's the value of a good running C w/ a trip bucket? Runs good, no smoke, brakes work fine, trip bucket works fine, tires all hold air (they are old & weather checked, but useable), tractor always starts up. I thought I was reasonable @ asking $1,400, but, people keep coming out & offering me 1/2 that. Is the economy really this bad? Or is my tractor really worth only $700?

I won't pay more for a tractor than I can reasonably expect to get out of it AFTER I fix what ails it. Just another man's opinion, but I would not pay $1400 for the pictured tractor as described.

$700.00 offer- tell them you"ll remove loader rig, see what they say. Loader that works unmounted is $100.00 to $250.00. Mounted it is $500.00 perhaps. Basic running C is about a $1000.00 but rubber is a price variable- new tires could be another $200.00 apiece. You posted price, they countered with 1/2, let the dickering begin. RN

$200 apiece? You haven't priced tires in a while... We tried to get a matching firestone traction field & road for the Super C, and a new tire is almost $400.

The reason nobody is offering you much is because of the way the tractor looks. No offense intended, but looks like a rusty old hunk that you just dragged off the fence row.

They are attempting to get a real good buy. Your price is on target. Unless you need to sell it for cash flow, let it ride at that price point. What could they buy that will do what that tractor can do for that price anywhere?? JimN

I paid 1,000.00 delivered for a super c in good running condition , tires fair and weather checked, not rusted and sheet metal in good condition and no loader as yours has. In my opinion I would pull the fenders off and sell them on e-bay for 2-300.00, And you should be able to get 1,000.00 for the tractor, Combined you will be very close to your asking price.

Your price is very fair too bad it anit here as i know a buyer that would gladly pay that much for it. New paint sont make them run any better nor have something that would push a lot of snow with a simple blade on the front. You can even put a blade on the rear. Stick to your price just a bunch of tire kickers looking to steal something then they will have a pic of it on their traler with a for sale sign. You see things like that on the photo adds very plain that they just found a bargain at a sale and are looking to make a fast buck

$1400 is fine. But, if there were two equivalent tractors side by side, one with and one without the loader, priced the same, I would take the one without the loader. The C is rather light for a loader. Don't worry about the paint. Paint does nothing for the value of a tractor unless everything else is fixed. Side by side again, I would probably pick the rusty one. That tractor, if it has no major problems is worth far more than $700.

Don't forget the loader valve and resevoir. They can fetch a couple hundred or so on ebay. Of course you have to have different hydraulic lines to switch them. At any rate a good running SC will bring 100 to 1400 here most the time. If it had cultivators it would bring 2000 dollars here regardless of paint. I have ran old weathered tires for as long as I have had tires so to me as long as they hold air, Not cracked to bad, and have decent tread is about all I care about.

Looks like a decent old C to me. I sure wouldn't take 700 or 1000 for it.

$1,400 for that tractor providing it runs fine, and no serious leaks is not an unreasonable price in any pert of the country. I am usually loathe to comment on questions regarding a tractor's worth as it is so subjective, but in this case, you have already established a price you feel is fair and I see it as just that. My suggestion, however is to not try to upr=grade its value by painting it, as to someone who might want to restore it, it is worse to try to fix a bad paint job than to start on one that has surface rust. The Grill tin looks fine from the pic so I would guess that the rest of the tin is not mangled. I say hold fast to your price unless someone wants to come negotiate within a couple hundred of what you are asking.
