Farmall 806 Mounting to Engine stand.

I am looking for some help on a problem. I have a Farmall 806 that I am doing a full overhaul on. I plan to split the tractor and remove the engine to put on a engine stand. My problem being is that I need to find a bracket that will bolt the block to the mounting stand from the side. What series engine is the 361cu in diesel? I have come across a mounting bracket for the 400 series engine but I'm unsure if that will bolt to the side of the block. All the help would be appreciated. If the 400 series mounting bracket wont work does anyone know where I can find one that will work for the tractor.

I see you are looking for information for mounting an engine to an engine stand. The 400 series engine is the D/DT 414, 436, & 466 engines. As far as mounting brackets for 361/407 engine you will need to know the serial number for your engine as there were some changes made over production run of the 361 engine. If you do not yet have the IH service manual (GSS1346) for the 361 engine, I highly recommend that you invest in one. The 361 engine is not a simple engine to overhaul. The manual also gives full details on mounting the engine to the repair stand.

What is so complicated about the D-361 I di mine about 25 years ago. IT has dry sleeves that is the hardest part of the whole thing is
getting them out.
As for a stand why do you want to hold it from the side? I would hold it on both ends for less strain on the stand and block. It will be
about as easy to make the plates.
