Hi guys just got a ih 706 with cab and my book is on the way but in the mean time my power steering seems to not be working so well has been fine prior to today. So my question is where do I fill fluid for it & also where to fill hydraulic fluid. I took out the floor mat and up close to the peddles was a silver screw on cap to something...I took it off cleaned dip stick slid it back in to check it said low...lol..ok but which fluid goes in there is that where the hy oil goes? tranny fluid? Any help would be appreciated. Its getting dark here but if needed I could post pic tomorrow.

it sounds like you found the hyd oil dipstick. that is for all hydraulic functions and trans. lube. "hy-tran" i guess is what they call it at the dealer. we buy it by the barrel. btw the "add" line is 1 gal below the "full" line. and if you are at the very bottom of the stick, it'll take a full 5 gal.

When you get the hydralic system full, add 5 more gallons of hytran. Then remark the stick. That is a remedy common with IH tractors.there is an oring that sometimes sucks air, that 5 gal solves that problem.

Another question my back tires are air filled what pressure should they be at? Man can't wait to get my book lol

ty honey they are 18.4-30 they are at 10 psi now but seemed a lil low to me...nice to get answers from a fellow coloradoan. I'm out east of denver ty again
