What could be my best or worse case scenarios. The dozer has been used on light farm work it's whole life, and has been sitting for several years. Thanks in advance for your input and suggestions. It uses a planetary steering system similar to the TD7 and 8. It's rather complicated to describe but basically consists of two steel discs and two sets of shoes on each side. One disc is held stationary to drive the corresponding side and then released to make a turn and the other disc is stopped to make a spot turn. In other words no fiber/steel clutch pack with pressure plate and brake drum. The linings on the shoes are probably worn out. When you pull back on the lever on either side, the clutch disengages on that side and then when you pull it further, the pivot brake engages for an even sharper turn. If the brake is just stuck, you might try engaging both brakes with the pedal with both levers forward (engaged)and it might break loose. If it is the steering clutch, it might have been overadjsuted, but I think that's unlikely. [Reply]  [No Email]
