I"m writing in hope to try and solve a problem that is driving me absolutely crazy.I recently replaced the engine in my Case 850D dozer with an engine out of a Case 621 loader.Everything is hooked up and engine runs fine except that it overheats after running for about 10 minutes.I"ve had the radiator flushed and rotted out,new thermostat installed,and water pump inspected.Is there anything I"m overlooking?

| At a local radiator shop they use a strip of paper (reminded me of Litmus paper) to test for carbon monoxide in the coolant, (blown head gasket, cracked head, etc.
2) a collapsing radiator hose.
3) a de-laminating radiator hose.
4) a faulty or incorrectly installed thermostat, you can check these yourself.
5) plugged radiator
6) late timing (gas)
7) parking brake on
8) loose nut behind the wheel ;)

| Is it the exact same engine?? If it is a different size engine maybe your radiator isn't enough to cool it?

| | J, Is it possible the thermostat is installed incorrectly?
We had a '72 Treefarmer Ford diesel that would run fine until left to idle. Then it would blow it's cool. That was a case of a hairline crack in the head. It had to be magnafluxed (sp) to determine the problem. It ran fine after the shop did what they had to do!

| If you have checked the temperature with a heat gun or known good mechanical gauge and it is actually running hot..look for bubbles in the radiator(blown head gasket, cracked head), no circulation,(water pump,thermostat stuck loose belt,worn out pulleys) or it could be air bound
