Explain what you have done so far. the xle has to be PULLED. you need a hydraulic press capable of at least 80 tons. I always keep an old axle adapter and weld it to the end of the broken axle. be sure and remove the nut from under the tractor. |

| We have removed the nut. we have a make shift puller proably not up to 80 ton more like 8 lol . we are going to get a HDY pulled from a cat mec. according to the book just a little pull is needed i thing the 80 ton is more like it . Ty for you input |

| that should do it as far as removal. a suggestion. I have a little experience..I have been a cat mechanic since 1958. do not sand paper the bore. purchase 50 lbs of "Dry Ice" pack that part of the axle that goes in the taper. let it sit at least 4 hours, overnight if possible. be sure to have an axle nut with a one inch plate welded to it screwed on the end of the axle. hae some one laying under the tractor with the inside nut in place so the axle will go thru it, and he should have a spanner wrench handy insert the axle, hid with a 15 lb sledge, be sure to have the measurements handy and an accurate measuring device.
